During our conference, which took place in Gothenburg, Sweden, on September 18–19, 2024, our CEO, Johan Melander, was interviewed by Łukasz Majer, Business Solutions & Marketing Director. Their discussion explored key market trends in low-code tools, including AI and process data mining, and examined the future direction of Novacura Flow in response to these developments.

Novacura Flow Connect – Demo of the new features and future capabilities

Andreas Berggren, Platform Product Owner, and Paul Phillips, Director of Product Management, delivered a presentation on the key foundations of our new product, Flow Connect. They provided a brief introduction to Flow Hub, explaining how the application development process is structured within the platform’s new architecture. The session included a live demonstration of Flow Connect, showcasing its latest features from an end-user perspective. Finally, they outlined future development plans, including the product roadmap and upcoming innovative features.

Łukasz Majer, Business Solutions & Marketing Director, provided an overview of various customer success stories featuring Novacura Flow implementations. The presentation delved into use cases such as invoice processing, returnable packaging management, integration with AI services, machinery integration using OPCUA, survey management, and more.

Flow Classic Practical Workshop – tips, tricks, Flow

Andreas Berggren, Platform Product Owner, and Ola Carlander, Senior Customer Success Specialist, shared tips and tricks for using Flow. They highlighted the latest capabilities introduced in Flow 6.15, including:

  • Using a REST service with Flow
  • Configuring and utilizing map portlets
  • New Flow script functions, such as group by and join
  • New Debugger
  • Image annotations
 

Flow User Interface (UI) – proposed improvements & user feedback

Christian Fransson, Lead UX Designer, and Kevin Femenias, Senior UX Designer, discussed how customer feedback drives many of the UI changes in our platform. They showcased implemented improvements, features currently under development, and future visions. Additionally, they gathered customer feedback on proposed concepts and explored suggestions for other desired features.

Portal – Practical workshop, “Let’s build an interactive dashboard within 45 minutes”

Malin Johansson, Platform Product Owner, and Ola Carlander, Senior Customer Success Specialist, conducted a live demonstration of building a complex portal dashboard. They showcased various portlets, interactions with backend systems, and the invocation of Flows to process data. This session highlighted the capabilities of the Portal and demonstrated how efficiently applications can be developed with experience using the platform.

Customer case – Successful migration from Flow 6 to Flow Connect!

At our conference in Gothenburg, Sweden, on September 18–19, 2024, we had the pleasure of hearing a presentation from our customer KLN, represented by Drew Johnson, Applications Manager. Drew shared insights into KLN’s successful upgrade from Flow 6 to Flow Connect, detailing how the company prepared for the transition, the steps taken during the migration, and their overall evaluation of the new system after several months of use.

Adam Wojtyniak, Application Product Owner, conducted a live demo session showcasing the latest applications developed for Infor M3. He also provided a broader outlook by presenting our roadmap for upcoming marketplace applications. Participants had the opportunity to share feedback on the roadmap and assist in prioritizing future releases.

Our practical experience from IFS Cloud Upgrade projects

Lars Steen, Vice President of the Service Division, shared insights from our successful IFS Cloud upgrade projects. He discussed the most common challenges customers encounter during the upgrade process and how we support them in overcoming these obstacles. Lars also introduced Novacura’s upgrade methodology, designed to address typical issues and streamline the upgrade journey, making it significantly easier to execute.

The future of the marketplace – applications for IFS

Łukasz Majer, Business Solutions & Marketing Director, presented the proposed roadmap for Marketplace applications. He invited customers to provide feedback on their most desired apps to validate or adjust the selected priorities.

Customer case – Transitioning to Novacura Flow: A 2-3 Year Journey

Frans Stridh, CTO at Vedum, and Marcus Eriksson, Senior Principal Architect at IFS R&D, shared insights into their 2-3 year project to replace legacy production systems with Novacura Flow. They highlighted how this transformation enhanced efficiency and fostered innovation within their operations.

How to upgrade to Flow Connect – upgrade path explanation, how to start 

Paul Phillips, Director of Product Management, outlined the upgrade path to Flow Connect. He detailed the steps where customers can depend on Novacura to ensure a smooth migration with minimal time investment on their part. Paul introduced the initial stages of the process and unveiled the foundations of the “upgrade companion tool,” designed to assess a customer’s readiness for the transition.
